UX solutions for a public library

Challenge: Improving the user experience of public libraries

Methodology: Design thinking

Our goal was to see if we could improve the user experience of public libraries and how we could do it. The idea of the project was open; it was up to us as user-experience designers to find the most fitting solution to improve the experience of the library Iván de Vargas in Madrid. For this matter, we decided to work following the double diamond method.

After all the research we decided to improve the user experience by carrying out physical changes. We created a “traffic-light of noise” to help generate a better noise climate in which users don’t disturb one another and respect the needs of each other. Another crucial thing along changes made to the libraries distribution was the increase of green areas.
